Consider approval and ratification of multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agreements.

These multi-jurisdictional agreements allow county-wide law enforcement units comprised of officers from participating municipalities and the York County Sheriff's Department. The three multi-jurisdictional units are for drug, forensic and traffic units. As you know, the City has participated in these multi-jurisdictional law enforcement units for a number of years. The new agreements replace existing agreements and provide a more thorough description of the particular unit's duties and responsibilities. The two ratifications involve the drug and traffic units and approval is requested in order to alleviate challenges regarding jurisdiction for prior arrests. All of the agreements have been reviewed and are supported by both the RHPD and the City Attorney's office.
