Title

Consider Planning Commission recommendation regarding petition M-2011-23 by Rock Hill Planning Commission to amend the Zoning Ordinance affecting Article 10, Appendix 10-A, in relation to the Old Town boundary.  

Strategic Goal: Ensure quality development standards so that private investment reinforces the City’s aesthetic goals.

Body

The proposed amendments would add approximately 183.62 acres to the Old Town boundary in the Winthrop University area.  The area is located to the northwest of the existing Old Town Boundary.  The purpose of including more land around Winthrop University on the Old Town map is to facilitate rehabilitation, development or redevelopment there in accordance with the College Town Action Plan.  The Planning Commission recommended approval of the amendments at their November meeting.  See attached staff report for more information.
