On September 12, 2011, City Council approved a ground lease to ITT Information Systems for a Federal Aviation Administration air traffic surveillance and broadcast site tower to be located on City of Rock Hill property at the airport. The lease was executed by the City on September 12, 2011 and by ITT Information Systems on September 26, 2011. The tower construction was finished on October 7, 2011.
In order for the tower to become operational, utilities must be brought to the site. The request is for a utility easement across open City of Rock Hill property at the airport to the tower site.
