Hold Public Hearing to consider alternative fuel source and fossil fuel generation standards in accordance with the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA) of 1978, as amended by the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
Body
The City is required to consider but not adopt the standards. The fuel source standard states that each electric utility shall develop a plan to minimize dependence on one (1) fuel source and to ensure that the electric energy it sells to customers is generated using a diverse range of fuels and technologies including renewable technologies. The fossil fuel generation efficiency standard states that each electric utility shall develop and implement a 10-year plan to increase the efficiency of its fossil fuel generation.
