Body

The Neighborhood Inspections Division of Housing and Neighborhood Services is asking that Council approve the involuntary demolition of the following dwellings:

 

965 Carolina Ave. Ext. : This home has major deterioration; case has been open since August, 2007. Demolition contract was mailed to relative but never returned.

 

1113 Flint St. Ext.: This dwelling also has major deterioration and has  been open for one year. Owner has not responded to any communication from Inspections, including letter apprising them of possible council action.

 

1380 E. Black St.: This dwelling has been a major source of complaints for several years, beginning with abandoned vehicles and grass. The dwelling itself and the outbuildings are now deteriorated and neighbors have filed police reports indicating breaking and entering and theft from the home. The owner is reportedly in a nursing home with Alzheimer's and none of the relatives are willing to assume responsibility.

 

Pertinent information has been given to the appropriate councilmember.
