Title

Consider Planning Commission recommendation regarding amendment and extension of the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) and Impact Fee program.

Strategic Goal: Ensure the Provision of Quality Public Services

Body

The City adopted a Capital Improvements Plan and established an Impact Fee ordinance in 2003, with amendments made in 2005 and 2008, to help offset additional costs to provide water, sewer, and fire services to new development.  The current CIP and Impact Fee Ordinance are set to expire on July 1, 2012 and must be updated to fund both existing and proposed capital projects to meet the needs of new growth.  At their May meeting, Planning Commission recommended approval of the amended CIP schedules and continuation of the Impact Fee program at the current rate structure.  See attached memorandum for more information.
