Title: Consider approval of Hometown Security Plan.

Title

Consider approval of Hometown Security Plan.

Body

In 2003, the Rock Hill City Council approved the first Hometown Security Plan as part of the City’s Strategic Goal to provide Public Safety for the citizens of Rock Hill.

For the past six years, the Hometown Security Division, along with City Departments, has operated under the guidance of the current Hometown Security and Emergency Response Plan.  As time progressed and City goals and department responsibilities changed, so did the need to update the elements of the Security Plan.

The updated 2009/2010 Hometown Security Plan addresses the City’s updated technology - specifically, safety, security and emergency response guidelines. It also integrates recommendations by the National Incident Management System (NIMS).

The primary goals of the updated Rock Hill Hometown Security and Response Plan include:

1- Guidance on daily procedures to ensure security and safety for City staff, and for customers who utilize City facilities.

2- To clearly outline steps for preparation, response and recovery on the part of City staff in the event of an emergency situation.

This is a request for City Council to approve the updated 2009/2010 City of Rock Hill Hometown Security Plan.
