Based on this past experience with the City and the discussions in the meeting, it is our opinion that Lee’s Hauling & Grading, LLC has the knowledge, equipment, and financial ability to complete the referenced project. We have also verified that they have the appropriate General Contractor’s License (i.e., WL5) to complete the proposed improvements.
This project meets the strategic goals set forth by the City Council. Over the past four years, the Utilities Department has completed six major sewer projects using this budgeted money to replace and repair old lines. These projects include Dutchman Creek, Hope Street, Green Street, Glencairn Gardens,Stoney Branch, and Arcade Mills.
Therefore, we recommend the project be awarded to Lee’s Hauling & Grading, LLC of York, South Carolina in the amount of $2,726,809.50.
